The Social Ecological Model (SEM) is a theory-based framework for understanding the multifaceted and interactive effects of personal and environmental factors that determine behaviors, and for identifying behavioral and organizational leverage points and intermediaries for engagement and health promotion on all levels of the economic scale.

Life Course Persective

The life course perspective or life course theory (LCT) is a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the mental, physical, and social health of individuals, which incorporates both life span and life stage concepts that determine the health trajectory from Maternal and Child Health to Gerontology.
